As you can see, I’ve
worked in pencils, pen
and ink, and even
watercolors. Whatever
gets the job done. I’ve
always said I have no
trouble thinking out of
the box-- I’m never
inside of the box in the
first place.
I’ve always met
deadlines and don’t get
angry with kill fees and
flat kills. If you don’t
know what that means -
it’s when the project
gets canceled and you
get a lower fee than
promised or (gulp) no
fee.
If you think you can’t
afford my work, you’re
probably wrong. I’ve
done some pretty cheap
projects because I’d
rather be working than
looking for work.
I work 6 to 7 days a
week because when I’m
not working, I get the
“honeydo” list. If you’re
not single, you know
what that is. BTW - my
“honey” is a pretty darn
good artist herself.

I’ve met a few famous artists and illustrators
and I had the privilege of being an
aquaintence of the late, great Irving Shapiro.
If you aren’t familiar with his work, Google
him. He was probably the best lighthouse
painter ever. And a nice guy not too full of
himself which is more than I can say for most
I’ve met who have “made it”.
I might never get to that level, but I’ve
learned that it doesn’t really matter. Doing
good work you can be proud of is reward
enough. Just like being a good person who
can sleep well at night.
