I was trained at the American Academy of Art. I had some great teachers there

including the late, great Irving Shapiro. You can check him out at Wikipedia.

Another great teacher I had was Paul Arnot. I learned oil painting and drawing the

figure from him. He was a pretty accomplished painter in his own right.

After that I went into business doing portrait commissions. I did that for several years

but I was always drawn to my artistic roots which was fantasy art.

From there I began illustrating for science fiction and fantasy magazines. I won’t

mention them right off because, hmm, they seem to have passed in the wind and are

no longer published.

With no choice but to move on, I did corporate artwork and illustrations but was a

little disappointed that I got no credit -- couldn’t sign any of those, but it did make for

a good living.

Unhappy with corporate life and finding myself financially stable, I decided to leave

and work out of my own studio. Since that time I have shown works in various

galleries around the Sun Valley area of Arizona, been on staff for a regional art

initiative, and participated in municipal art projects, but what I am really focusing to

do is to rejoin the illustration field. I’m open to a variety of projects at the moment

and would welcome your requests. Check my contact page if you’d like to drop me an

email.
